Adult Dance Week with John Darvell and special guest Charlie Morrissey

An intensive set of one weekend and evening dance workshops for adults, delivered by our Artistic Director John Darvell, culminating in an evening performance on Friday 3 August!

This exciting opportunity open to all beginners, improvers and advanced adult dancers, will explore the dance technique of the professional company’s work.

Plus special visiting guest, Charlie Morrissey

Excitingly this year we will also have internationally renowned Charlie Morrissey as our guest teacher.

For part of our Sunday session, Charlie will deliver a workshop focusing on playing with different ways in which to bring ourselves into fully engaged action through different focused interactions with others, and with what we come into contact with, using this as a basis for solo and group movement.

A real chance for people who want to explore different ways to access their own movement potentials, and to explore how being seen (in performance) might be intrinsic, supportive and instructive to what you do.

The rest of the week will then develop this material, focused on creating a piece in NOCTURN’s unique style, led by John.

Each session will include warm up and company technique class, independent and collaborative creative exploration, learning and rehearsing choreographed sequences with support from NOCTURN's dancers, with feedback and group discussion on choreographic choices.

Participants must be available for the performance date, and must be aged over 19. This fun week will provide something for all standards from the complete beginner to the more advanced adult dancer.

Participants must be available for the performance on Friday 3 August, and must be aged over 19.
