A dark, raw, disturbing study of Genie, a modern-day "wild child" who, until discovered at the age of 13, had lived in a state of severe sensory and social deprivation.

Captivated by the Emmy Award-winning documentary, John Darvell, as Associate Choreographer for 4Motion Dance Theatre Company, explored a world of robbed childhood innocence and uneasy playfulness through dance and animation.

Set to a haunting score by John Chambers, audiences became uncomfortable observers of extreme feelings of entrapment all played out by three female dancers and a single ominous darkened figure.

John’s first exploration of using mixed media and cross art form collaboration set the artistic tone and direction for what would become NOCTURN’s signature style of work.

Chillingly, uncomfortable and emotionally textured. An energetic epic piece leaving you with more questions than answers.
